At Peter Pan Preschool, your child’s day is carefully planned out with a variety of hands-on activities to encourage learning and socialization through a bilingual learning experience. Your child is taught to recognize numbers, colors, shapes, letters, and write their name. We introduce concepts like opposites, identifying emotions and basic directional skills. We also put a large focus on teaching self-awareness and fostering independence by helping your child master their self-help skills.
We’ve designed our preschool with these developmental milestones in mind, and equip each area of the school with age-appropriate, educational toys to inspire your child’s curiosity and desire to learn. We also promote and foster outside play time, building strength, coordination, and teamwork in our outside space that features a large lawn with trees, play equipment, sand box, driveway for bicycles/scooters, secret garden, Goldie the Chicken, and more!
Our daily story time consists of reading books together, singing songs, understanding the calendar, discussions in both English & Spanish, and focussing on bringing verbal skills to life.
Our literacy program includes learning the alphabet in English & Spanish, daily circle time where we read books together, practice writing skills through tracing, and focus on books that encourage early reading.
Our math curriculum consists of table time where we practice basic addition & subtraction, patterns, and counting 1 – 20 in English & Spanish.
Our program aims to have an outdoors science approach bringing nature into the classroom. We also go on hikes, visit the nearby Fire Station, and spend a lot of time in the “Secret Garden” where we grow all sorts of vegetables like tomatoes, greens, and peppers
At Peter Pan, we alternate between English & Spanish days allowing for students to grow & learn both languages throughout the week. We encourage kids to speak in both languages, which improves their comfort and fluency each day. We also allow our students 10 minutes per day on the iPad to practice on language apps such as Learn Spanish and Khan Academy Kids.
Our physical education consists of play time on bikes, trikes, scooters, stryders, & playing games like tag & hide-n-seek in the lawn!
Our daily rest time is generally between 12:30p-2:30p each day. We provide comfortable mats for each child to use during rest time, and recommend that children have their own blanket and/or stuffed animals that remain at school for your child during rest.
We ask that children are provided with two nutritional snacks & a lunch for your child each day. We are a PEANUT FREE School, so we request parents not pack any peanut containing products in your child’s lunch
